How to make Methi (Fenugreek) Pakodas and recipe : Take out the gram flour in a vessel. Add asafoetida, carom seeds, red chilli powder, ginger paste, green chillies and salt and make a thick batter with the help of water till the lumps disappear. Keep the solution for 10 minutes so that it gets prepared properly.
(See ingredients list at the bottom)
Break the fenugreek leaves and clean them, wash the leaves twice with clean water and keep the washed leaves in a sieve or plate at an angle in such a way that excess water gets drained from the leaves. Chop these leaves finely. Add chopped fenugreek to the gram flour batter and mix. If the batter seems thick then add some more water and beat the batter well again for 2-3 minutes.
Put oil in the pan and heat it. Take a little batter with a spoon and put it in hot oil, put as many pakodas as you can to submerge them in the oil, turn the pakodas and fry them till they turn brown. Keep the fire medium high or medium. Take out the fried pakodas in a plate lined with tissue paper. Prepare pakodas in the same manner from the remaining batter.
It takes 5-6 minutes to fry the pakodas at one time. Serve them with tomato sauce or green coriander chutney and eat.
